description: Our venture into design at the intimate scale of jewelry started with this project to design a custom ring which was to have meaning and be unique. by selecting and mapping the fluctuations of three key personality characteristics of the individual we were able to develop a playful interaction of splines which were projected onto the unrolled surface area of the ring and redeveloped to form the ring’s cylindrical shape. the ring can be worn to display it’s more subtle ‘mellow’ surface area or it’s more playful ‘hyper’ surface area which gives it the added feature of acting as two different pieces of jewelry.
