description: Spacio Design first hung our shingle at 1724 Broadway. Originally a car repair shop, the building is now the home of Valley Document Solutions and 6 executive suites with a shared conference room. When the old raceway conference table was moved out with a previous tenant, the co-owner of VDS commissioned Spacio for a new table.
The design is inspired by the building context. The roof is supported by a series of heavy timber trusses. We brought the truss down to the ground plane, inverted it and pulled it into a 3 dimensional form with outriggers and diagonal braces. While the table balances on the apex of the truss, we added 4 chromed square tube legs to tie in with the buildings modern interior. All of this is topped with glass.
